What does it taste like?
Chenin Blanc in its most classic form in the Loire Valley is full of floral and honeyed aromas and quince and apple-like flavours with good zippy acidity. When cool-fermented as in so many instances in South Africa, it can be quite peardroppy, becoming more peachy in fuller dry whites.
Morrisons Wm Morrisons Chenin Blanc
Morrisons Signature wines are their finest and they believe that this South African Chenin Blanc from the Western Cape is proof. Morrisons says it goes well with a creamy pasta bake or a Saturday night takeaway Thai green curry and will go with mildly spicy foods, such as chicken satay.
Flagstone Tributary Chenin Blanc, South Africa
A multi-regional blend of Chenin Blanc grapes all harvested from low-yielding, ol bush vines. Shows enticing aromas of layered tropical and stone fruit, with a hint of spice and some richness to the creamy palate and bright acidity on the finish. A mixture of cool- and warm-climate grapes was selected; each parcel was treated separately with some fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and some in barrel.
This Chenin Blanc is crisp and fruity, delicious on its own or with crumbed fish or chicken.
Combination of alluvial, well drained and aerated soils as well as decomposed granite soils from mountain foothills.
